A bi-direction congestion control mechanism for CCN

Content-centric Networking (CCN) is a new promising network architecture which is a popular representative among many Information-centric Networking (ICN). Since CCN has some transmission characteristics differing from those of TCP/IP network, traditional transport protocol may not be well suitable for CCN. It is necessary to propose a new congestion control mechanism for CCN. In this paper, we present a novel method to control the congestion that adapts two window of different grain at the consumer side and provider side. Then we introduce a dynamic factor on the consumer side that represents the capability of an interest packets to help improve the network efficiency. Simulation results demonstrate that the mechanism proposed in this paper is a practicable approach that can effectively deal with network congestion while keeping high efficiency.
