Polyoxymethylene dimethyl ethers (PODE) are a promising alternative fuel for diesel engines. PODE have high volatility, high ignitability and high oxygen content, and is thus also an ideal additive fuel for blend and dual-fuel combustion due to its low-temperature chemistry.
